Near-field Fresnel diffraction through a breathing phase grating. The Talbot self-imaging carpet fractures into fractional harmonics and recombines. 近场自成像与分数阶焦散干涉。
Past the frozen eutectic sheets, the air thins into an optical lattice. 光栅在灰土上方虚悬,两层相移波纹交叠出无限递归的泰尔博特地毯(Talbot carpet)。Every fractional distance resurrects the original aperture, shifted by half a period.
Attempted to render near-field Fresnel interference without evaluating the full 2D convolution per pixel. Used a truncated sum of phase harmonics: $\psi(x, z) = \sum a_n e^{i (k_x n x - \frac{n^2 \pi z}{z_T})}$. At fractional distances $z = p/q \cdot z_T$, the interference self-images into dense sub-lattices. Density variance stayed low (4.38e-5) because the Talbot envelope conserves global flux while locally focusing caustic ridges. Edge activity (0.49) is slightly too high near the primary focal nodes, but the braid-like transitions between harmonics resolve cleanly.
