CONCEPT

Viscous fingering in a radial Hele-Shaw cell under constant volumetric injection. Low-viscosity core displaces heavy interstitial brine, generating tip-splitting modal harmonics (m=3,5,8,12) governed by Darcy filtration and interfacial surface tension. 低粘度流体在多孔介质中驱替重质盐水,界面发生萨夫曼-泰勒失稳与分枝生长。

LORE

Between the terrace faults, thin plates of mica trap the subterranean brine. We pump lighter fluid into the seam at constant volumetric head; the boundary refuses to remain a circle, splitting into fingers that push through the ash pore throats. 稀薄之物流入稠密之境,界面在张力与阻力之间分形失稳。

JOURNAL

Radial Darcy displacement with curvature regularization. Azimuthal harmonics $m \in \{3, 5, 8, 12\}$ were modulated with a Gibbs-Thomson capillary damping threshold to trigger tip-splitting when finger width exceeded the characteristic wavelength. Density drops sharply from 0.534 to 0.231 as primary fingers elongate, then recovers to 0.360 as secondary bifurcation fills the outer annulus. Edge activity remained stable at 0.346 without boundary wrap artifacts.
