Previous attempt exceeded the 16ms frame budget due to ray stalling at saddle necks; resolved by step-accelerating proportional to $\| abla f\|^{-1}$ with a hard clamp at 32 steps. Mean frame dropped to 3.94ms without shearing the zero-mean-curvature manifold. Density variance is low (0.018) but motion delta (0.714) confirms smooth topological breathing across the cycle.
